AdAge: Ad Age’s Women to Watch 2015

New York, NY (June 1, 2015) – Annalect’s Erin Matts is one of the 20 leaders honored in Ad Age’s annual Women to Watch list, recognizing the year’s most accomplished and up-and-coming women in marketing, advertising, and media.

Now in its eighteenth year, Ad Age’s Women to Watch list spotlights outstanding women who have made names for themselves at media companies, tech companies, brands, and agencies around the world. Ms. Matts joins nearly 500 forward-thinkers who have been recognized by Advertising Age since the launch of the highly esteemed list.

Deciphering the code-like language of media and ad technology is a rare skill, but she has it down to a science. Ms. Matts may be chief marketing officer of Omnicom Group’s data and digital media arm Annalect, but her true title should be chief translator. “Big data can be scary and overwhelming—and the language we use to describe it does little to make it less intimidating and easier to understand,” she said. Ms. Matts has already steered a significant rebrand around the group’s consulting and technology capabilities, and now is zeroing in on opportunities with the holding company, such as collaborating with the group’s creative agencies. Ms. Matts may be the perfect person for that task, boasting agency, client and publishing experience: She was previously digital chief of Omnicom media agency OMD, global director for digital connections at brewing giant A-B InBev and chief digital officer at Glam Media.

“These outstanding women are proven winners who have shown great accomplishments in their careers, from blazing trails to carving out new business opportunities and sparking marketing innovation,” said Ad Age Deputy Editor Judann Pollack. “We are proud to welcome them into our elite group of Women to Watch — and we will certainly be hearing more from them in years to come.”

The Women to Watch class of 2015 will be showcased in a special issue of Ad Age appearing both in print and online at Adage.com/WomenToWatch2015 today. They will also be fêted at an Advertising Women of New York luncheon in New York City on August 5.

The winners were chosen by a team of Ad Age editors who reviewed hundreds of submissions, researched leading candidates, and consulted with staff reporters on the final selection.
